Lake Washington Association Board Meeting March 9, 2009

Old Business:
Rick reports Mike E. is continuing to update website for us.
Newsletter articles to Rick by 3/30/09, he will be forwarding the template.
Board discussed and approved sending addressed envelopes out with the newsletter for return of membership forms, cost is $90/year. Jean W. said we can continue to help us get the newsletters stuffed. The board agreed we need to reward this group with pizza or ice cream for a job well done. Kim will get stamps and coordinate getting envelopes, labels and stamps to Jean.

Spring Fling @ Old Farmer’s Daughter. John F. will check with Rick F. to be sure we send out an email notice. Newsletter will be too late.
Dennis reported on whether the DNR grant can be a taxable transaction. There are certain criteria we need to meet as non-profit. Can only earn $25,000 per year, own no assets. We are registered as a Non Profit of Mn. As a BASIC FOUNDATION.
New Business:
John will contact Hutch/Litchfield and Dassel/Cokato news papers to run community service adds regarding the Spring Fling, Dates of member picnic May 2 / Bar-B-Q
Aug. 1.
Members meeting picnic May 2 – same menu as the past (pork chops, beans, etc.) / purchase 3 meat raffles, speaker: Kim will contact someone like Lee Sunmark or other local DNR person.
Board approved board members and lake association membership in Minnesota Waters.
Board Elections at May 2 Membership meeting: the following are in 3rd year of their term: Dick Yoch, Jen Kjell, Bill Ooley, Steve Ullom – all agreed to serve another term. Jean Ward has chosen to not continue on the board at this time. Will need one person to volunteer for the board, talked about names and also consider someone volunteering at the picnic.
Minnesota Waters is having their annual conference in Rochester, MN May 6,7,8. Reminder to Board members the Association will pay for conference, room, meals, and mileage for any board member wishing to attend.
Exotic Species Committee plans to apply for a permit to chemically treat 100 acres this year. Bill C. has contacted Patrick at PLM asking them to submit this application….grant funding for 2009 might not be there.
Next Meeting:
April 7, 2009 7:00 pm – Dassel Rod ‘n Gun Club should be open….plan to meet there.
